My way to Online Marketing Communications

Over 10 years in online marketing
 

Though my first job after university was related to journalism, I came back to what I had specialized in, i.e. Sales & Marketing Communications. With a couple or 3 of very different companies, I have dealt with both product direct marketing and corporate marketing communications. The first one, as a support to product sales, the latter - as crucial as the first one - to spread and monitor corporate identity and information. In my carreer, I have had many opportunities to jump into public relations as well as event organization. But my major and strongest skills have been driven on the internet with a 12-year experience at Alpha Card as a digital marketing manager, from static to a totally dynamic and always-on-the-move media. I have also recently certified in social media marketing as a strategist.

The steps to marketing communications

 


I have learned a lot in understanding and living together with cultures that were quite opposite to mine. 3M Europe was the first multinational company to give me the opportunity to work in marketing communications with European Countries such as United Kingdom or Greece, Eastern European countries such as Russia or Slovakia, and Middle-East countries such as Israël, United Arab Emirates or Pakistan.
With Club Med, in Bora Bora, I was leading a team including Canadian, Japanese, French and Maori mates. In Egypt, it took me a few months, but I finally got very close to my Muslim colleagues, and I occasionally even wore the veil not only by respect but also to be able to discover some more aspects of the Egyptian way of life.
